Rock Canyon Girls’ Lacrosse

2025–2026 Program Policies & Expectations

Welcome to Rock Canyon Girls’ Lacrosse. Our program is built on accountability, competitiveness, and growth—on and off the field. These expectations are in place to create a strong team culture and to empower our athletes to take ownership of their commitments, communication, and performance.

Communication

Clear, respectful, and direct communication is expected.

  • Questions or concerns should be directed to the Head Coach first—always

  • The Athletic Director will refer concerns back to the coaching staff

  • Email is the primary form of communication

  • Please allow 24–48 hours for responses

  • 24-hour rule after games (except emergencies)

Head Coach:

Program updates, forms, calendars, and schedules will be posted on the team website.

We are currently accepting assistant coach applications.

Parent & Spectator Expectations

  • Coaching decisions (lineups, positions, playing time) are final

  • High school lacrosse takes priority over club sports and outside activities during the season

  • Players may not participate in another school sport during the season

  • Families may be asked to assist with transportation for off-campus events

  • Coaching from the stands is not permitted

  • Support the team through positive encouragement, respect for officials, and volunteering

Unsportsmanlike behavior toward players or officials may result in removal from the stands and follow-up with school administration.

Sportsmanship & Conduct

Rock Canyon athletes and families are expected to represent the program with integrity, respect, and class.

  • All players must sign a Contract of Conduct

  • Players are accountable for behavior in and out of uniform

  • Coaches reserve the right to remove a player from participation for conduct that misrepresents the team or school

These expectations apply to players, parents, and spectators.

Chain of Communication

  • Player → Coach is always the first step

  • Parents should only be involved after the player has communicated directly with the coach

  • Playing time and performance will not be discussed immediately after games

  • Conversations may occur no sooner than 24 hours post-game

Players are expected to advocate for themselves. This program is a safe and supportive place to develop that life skill.

Practice Attendance & Commitment

All practices are mandatory. Appointments, work, and outside commitments must be scheduled around practice. During the season, Rock Canyon Girls’ Lacrosse is the top priority.

Consistent attendance is essential to team success.

  • Missing more than three (3) practices may result in dismissal from the program

  • Players may choose JV placement if academics or work require a reduced commitment

Schedules and updates will be posted on this team website.

Academic Eligibility

  • Grades are reviewed weekly by school administration

  • Players must be passing five (5) classes

  • Ineligible players may not participate in games or practices until eligibility is restored

  • Players will be notified directly by coaches

Academics always come first.

Fundraising & Involvement

We welcome parent involvement through:

  • King Soopers Community Rewards

  • Restaurant fundraising nights

  • Volunteer opportunities

Please reach out if you’d like to help.

Additional Information

  • Due to district transportation limitations, buses will not be provided for away games

  • Players are responsible for arranging rides to and from games

Program fees support:

  • Officials and field usage

  • Equipment, uniforms, and goalie gear

  • Coaching education and training

  • Team gear, video analysis, and stats

  • Player development camps

  • End-of-season banquet and awards

Closing

These policies exist to support a positive, competitive, and accountable lacrosse environment. Thank you for your commitment to the Rock Canyon Girls’ Lacrosse program and for helping us build strong athletes and an even stronger team culture.

We’re excited for the season ahead.

Athletic Registration Help

There are two parts to Athletic registration-

  1. rchsjags.com website- Registering and uploading a physical form
  2. Myschoolbucks.com – Payment of the participation fee through the “school store”

Physical Form-  ALL athletes will need to upload a physical form.  The old physical forms will not transfer to the new registration system.

Students registering for Athletics must have a current physical examination before the student is authorized to participate in practice/tryouts. To ensure clearance for participation, physicals must be completed and uploaded into your family account on the registration site prior to the first day of practice/tryouts.

Physical Form– Physicals are valid for 1 year from the date of the last exam.
